1832 list of members of Shultz Creek Church, Bibb Co., AL, transcription by Chester R. Johnson, Hurst, TX, includes Archibald Smith and Sarah Smith. 1833 list includes A.B. Smith and Sarah Smith. This transcription shows that on Oct. 25, 1832, Archibald B. Smith was received by experience and Sarah Smith by recantation. In April 1836 the church received a letter from Sardis Church concerning A.B. Smith. Matter of Sardis Church and A.B. Smith was discussed again in May 1836. In February 1837 Shultz Creek obtained the letter that had been given to Archibald and Sarah and then gave Sarah a separate letter. Sara was living in household with James M. Notes for WILLIAM BAILEY BRACKNELL, SR.: In 1920 Bibb County census..shows W.B. with a new wife... young...living on Brent St...with a 1 1/2 year old daughter.. I went to the wake tonight as I am friends of Mrs. W. B., Jr's daughter-in-law and discovered the error. I had W.B. Bracknell as the s/o William Bailey Bracknell and his first wife. His, William Bailey, Sr.'s, 2d wife was Anna Caddis by whom he had more children, the youngest being Geneva whose remarks I quoted. It turns out that W. B. was also named William Bailey which accounts for the mixup. DJ

I looked through my notes on Wm. Bailey who m. Nancy Deason and Anna Caddis. His youngest child gave me this information: He had 1 son and 2 daughters by his first wife but I got no names. He had 4 children by Anna. These were Clara Mae, W.D. (I must have heard W.B. as W.D. and I presume this is William Bailey whose wife just died), Bartee and Geneva. The latter was 14 months old when Anna died and 18 months old when Wm. Bailey died. Geneva was raised by her mother's sister, Ora Vivian Caddis Tune. She told me "W.D." married Ethel Elam. DJ
