He married JOANNA ELIZABETH CAFFEE November 14, 1860 in Residence of Eliza Caffee by W. W. Moore, daughter of SAMUEL CAFFEE and ELIZABETH VANCE. She was born October 12, 1837 in Ben Caffee place, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and died August 20, 1905 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.

Andrew David Smith (30 June 1832 - 7 Feb 1921) married Joanna Elizabeth Caffee (12 Oct 1837 - 20 Aug 1905) at the Ben Caffee place in Tuscaloosa County, 14 Nov. 1860. Their children, some of whom included Lillian, Morgan, Byrd, Alice, Lyda and my grandmother, Sarah Jane, all were reared in Scottsville and later lived in Blocton, then W. Blocton. Has a Maltese Cross of Honor UCV "Deo Vindice" at Scottsville Cemetery #1..Union Church..But has a Gravestone at Siloam Cemetery close by.
