Smith-Mahan Cemetery

17 miles north from Centreville on Alabama Hwy 25, on right (Ref: McCord's Baptists of Bibb County, Alabama)Township 24 North, Range 11 East, Section 28

Named for the families of John Mahan (1750-1820) and Jonathan Newton Smith; approx. 75 marked and 50 unmarked graves; first known interment John Mahan (1750-1820); Campbell, Owens, Potts and Smith are also common to this cemetery still in use. Located in NE Bibb off Hwy 25. There was no name on the cemetery except community cemetery. The storm had gone through and trees were everywhere, destroying many tombs...but this one caught my eye. --Herman Belcher
