From the BIBB BLADE, Six Mile, AL , April 15, 1885:

Mrs. Sara E Thompson, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Speller, and wife of Noah H. Thompson, was born in Bertie County, North Carolina, Oct. 16, 1816 and died April 10, 1885 in her 69th year. The subject of this notice was married to Noah H Thompson, January 11th, 1831. Professed faith in Christ and was baptized into the Baptist Church at Cashie, North Carolina, by Rev. A. J. Spiva in 1850. She with her husband, connected herself with the Baptist Church of Six Mile, AL, where her membership remained until her death. Sister Thompson was the mother of fourteen children, of whom only four remain to mourn her death and loss. She was a devoted and faithful wife, a tender and affectionate mother, a kind neighbor, and always a friend to the poor and suffering, and was loved by all who new her. May the precious Savior, in whom she trusted, comfort the bereaved husband in his declining years and lead the loving children into that haven of rest prepared for the redeemed.

Mrs. Nancy Woods

The Bibb Blade, February 11, 1886, page 3

A Peaceful Sleep.

"In a quiet country churchyard they’ve
laid her down to sleep,
Close beside the old home she’s at rest."

Died, at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. W. V. Arnold, on the 7th inst., Mrs. NANCY WOODS, aged 87 years. She had been in feeble health for a long while and for the past month or more had suffered a great deal. She died quietly, passing away as she had lived, in the full triumph of the Christian faith. A host of relatives and friends mourn her death, but their loss is her eternal gain. She was buried at the graveyard of the Presbyterian church on Monday evening, a goodly number of loving friends and bereaved relatives being present. The burial service was conducted by Rev. J. M. McCord. Where once a Christlike spirit dwelt in the house of clay is now but the vacant dwelling of the soul that has gone home to its Maker. Mortal suffering is exchanged for eternal joy, and a life of pain has passed into one of blissful habitation of the home of the saints.

I also have an obituary for Lloyd Vonsell Bracknell, he is buried in Springhill Cemetery, in Hale County. A lot of the Averette's call this the Averette cemetery due to the amount of Averettes buried there. Here you will find Averettes spelled both ways with and without the "E" on the end. To clear up the confusion a lot of the Averettes could not read or write so when the census taker came around they just spelled it anyway. You will find the name spelled Averette, Averett, and Averitt, all in the same family in some instanceance,
