DOBBS, do hereby claim my exemption rights to property exempt from execution under the laws of the State of Alabama, both real and personal and the following property as my own.  That I have paid my own money for money that I received from my father's estate and land that is deeded to me and my two children, Thomas J. DOBBS and Marsaler DOBBS.  Township 14 [South] Range 11 West, containing 240 acres, for which I gave $245 dollars and the following personal property: one yoke of oxen that was bought from Daniel FOWLER known as one Brindle steer with a sore in his forehead and one black with some white spots on him, named Buck and Dick.  I paid Daniel FOWLER $20 money and two yearlings at $10.  The wagon that I bought from P.M. NEWTON, I furnished $22.  I also bought a black cow from J.N. SMITH for which I paid $16 of money that I taught school for, and her increase.  A gray mare, that is the mare that my husband, J.H. DOBBS, bought from M.D. WILKS, 10 or 12 years old was delivered up to me in place of a mule my father gave me which I have leave to be traded for one that would suit me and his mare I claim as my property, in place of the mule and following household property: two beds and two bed steds and bed clothing, one clock, one cook stove, and vessels, one looking glass to all of which is my property and the proceeds of my money that I, which is my property and the proceeds of my money that I, received from my father's and his estate.

I, Elizabeth E. DOBBS, do hereby as my last will and testament and the same do to my children Thomas J. DOBBS and Marsaler DOBBS at our deaths, their father and mother, J.H. DOBBS and Elizabeth E. DOBBS, and we, Thomas J. DOBBS and Marsaler DOBBS, do hereby bind ourselves to work for and support and protect them in their old age to the best of our skill and ability.

Before me, William M. ENIS, Justice of the Peace in said county, personally appeared Elizabeth E. DOBBS and being by me duly sworn deposes and says that the above contains a correct and full account of my property, sworn to and subscribed before me on this 22nd day of May 1882.

The year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine / March 19, 1889 / Know all to whom this may concern.  I  James Madison MONTGOMERY hereby make my last will and devise for the division and for the distribution of all my estate Vis: Land tenements hereditament and all appurtenances thereunto in anywise [?] belonging and all moneys notes mortagages liens open accounts chattels goods and all my personal property and real estate of every description thereunto in anywise belonging to my estate and I hereby make a devide while in life of two hundred dollars as is hereby named to make them equal Marget E. NICHOLS has received her two hundred dollars credit on her land note March 12, 1889.  Norsis ROBERTS has received up to this date fifty dollars and ninety cts and is to have out of the "five" hundred and eighty dollars note given January 22, 1887 by J.N. OLIVE and R.W. WOOD one hundred and fifty nine dollars and ten cts to make up her $200.00.  M.A. NORMAN has received twenty five dollars and fifty five cts and is to have out of the note given by W.F. LOWLEY for one hundred and eighty dollars December 17, 1888 and due 25 day of December 1889.  She is to have one hundredd and seventy five dollars and forty five cts to make up her two hundred dollars.  Faney COVEN has received of me one hundred thirty nine dollars and ninety five cts and is to have out of the note given by J.N. OLIVE and R.W. WOOD dated January 22 1889 and due January first 1890 sixty dollars to make her two hundred dollars.  Mary E. ROBERTS has received her two hundred dollars.  Louiza McCLAIN has received her two hundred dollars.  Thomas BARNES and _ _        BARNES my great grand children is to have one hundred dollars each to be "____" out of the note given by J.N. OLIVE and R.W. WOOD given for "Five" hundred dollars which was given January 22, 1889 and due January 1, 1890 and this is all that Thomas BARNES and _ _   BARNES shall be entitled to out of the proceeds of my entire estate and that this two hundred dollars shall be put ______  ____ and to be well secured and not to be paid over to them until they become 21 years of age.  Mary E. MONTGOMERY my wife has received this date from me in cash one hundred dollars for her maintenance and is to have "a ______" from the balance of the proceeds of the remainder of my estate to do her during the remainder of her life and then the remainder of my estate is to be sold and to be divided ...
