Myrtle Bridges, author of a History/Genealogy of Richmond County in North Carolina entitled "Our Native Heath Richmond County 1779-1899." I have transcribed from original records at NC Archives information linking an Tuscaloosa citizen (1851) to Richmond County in North Carolina.

Here is the information:

1851 October 27. Joseph C. Gregg of the County of Tuscaloosa and the State of Alabama appoints Colin McArthur of Richmond County as his true and lawfull attorney and demands him to recover ... from Samuel McArthur, executor of the will of Catherine McArthur of the County of Richmond and State of South [North] Carolina the distributive share of the estate of said Catherine McArthur coming to his wife, Sarah McArthur, daughter of Peter McArthur, deceased, and grand daughter of said Catherine McArthur, deceased whatever amount of money or property that may be owing to his said wife ... Richmond County Court Minutes

Aug. 14, 1849. A deed of gift from Wm. Wallace, Sr. to Dau. Catherine "now the wife of Peter McArthur," on W. side of Gum Swamp near S. C.
