Darden Cemetery

Darden Cemetery is located at T21S R9W S32 and is located inside Bowers Park. Starting at the southeast corner rows are
surveyed from south to north.  Surveyed by Charesa Hester and Chuck Gerdau, Feb. 16, 2000.

The cemetery sits behind the Oak Hill Elementary School.  Years ago the Oak Hill Rest Home sat on the same property.

Restoration of the cemetery was started in 1969.  The steps and walkway were made from old bricks found in the cemetery.  Most of the unmarked graves are those who were residents of the county poor house formerly located on Hargrove Road near the cemetery.[1]
