p 40- "Charles Moore, the son of Robert Moore, an immigrant from Ireland, was born in Spartanburg District, SC. He was only a child when he served in the Revolution, and he also served in the War of 1812 as a Captain.

"He registered for land in Perry County, in the Fairview Presbyterian Church vicinity, on January 20, 1820. In 1830, he was the owner of 21 slaves.

The father of the famous Alabama Governor Andrew Barry Moore , Charles Moore died on August 12, 1838, and was buried in the Fairview Church Cemetery.... His wife, Jane Barry Moore, who was born in York District, SC, and who died on December 20, 1857, is buried by his side."
