p51- "... Temple Lea and his wife, Nancy, pioneers of Perry County"
fn12 "Temple Lea first ( Early Settlers) registered land in Perry Co. on January 24, 1820.
"His will was signed on July 15, 1833, and was probated on August 22, 1834."

p 139 - "Temple Lea and his wife, Nancy Moffett, moved from Georgia to Perry County... registering lands on January 24, 1820, ... located on Goose Creek, just east of the Cahaba River, a mile to two south of present-day Sprott. Their nearest neighbor was Charles Crow a leading Baptist minister [which] ... must have given pleasure to the Leas, who were also active Baptists.
"Temple and Nancy Lea were believed to be charter members of the Siloam Baptist Church in Marion (1822), since their names are often mentioned in the early annals of that Church.
"Nancy (Moffett) Lea had the honor of being the only delegate from Marion at the Alabama Baptist Convention in 1823, which was held at Salem Church near Greensboro.

p 140 - "...Margaret Lea, daughter, would become Mrs. Sam Houston ... 9 May 1840, Marion AL; bride given away by her brother Henry C. Lea."
