James Francis Bailey

p 103 - "James Francis Bailey entered [University of Alabama] in 1833, graduated A.B. and A.M. in 1838. Born in 1811, the son of J. G. Bailey of Perryville. Received LL.B from the University of Virginia in 1837.

"Representative in the Alabama Legislature 1847-48; Judge, Perry County Court 1848-65; member, Alabama Constitutional Convention, 1861 and 1865.

p 138 - "After serving in the Mexican War, Bailey married Ellen Amanda Mosely on December 9, 1849. He died in Marion on April 18, 1889.

p 138 - "James Francis Bailey was born in Wilkes County, GA on January 12, 1811, the son of John G. and Mary B. Bailey, who settled near Perryville in 1818. ... From 1837-44, he was a law partner of John N. Walthall in Marion ...."
