JM Kirkland of Cottonwood, Died at Early Hour Today
JM Kirkland, a prominent citizen of Cottonwood, died this morning at 3:30, of blood poison, which (unreadable word) up from a small scratch on one hand. His arm was amputated a day or two ago, but he never regained consciousness from the operation.
He was a rural mail carrier from Cottonwood, and he was well known in that section. He was the father of WP Kirkland, mail clerk on the Bay Line.
