Etowah County ALGenWeb The Gadsden Times-News Gadsden, Alabama Tuesday, February 21, 1899 Page 2 DEATH OF MRS. SIMPSON. She Passed Away Early Last Friday Morning. Mrs. Silena Simpson, mother of Capt. W. P. Simpson, of Rome, and Mrs. W. M. Browning, died at the home of the latter in this city at 3 a.m., last Friday. Mrs. Simpson has been in very feeble health for several years, being nearly 86 years old, and about two weeks ago was stricken with paralysis from which she never rallied. Mrs. Simpson was a good christian lady, and beloved by all who were so fortunate as to know her. She always had a kind word for every one, and her death has cast a gloom over this happy home. Her remains were interred at Forest cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday, a large crowd attending and paying their last respects to the dead.
