Burton, of Lincoln, died, yesterday afternoon at 1:30 at St. Luke's hospital in Anniston, from injuries received at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning at Lincoln when he was struck by an eastbound Southern train. Mr. Burton had purchased a tickey to Rome, Ga., and as the train pulled into the station ran across the tracks in front of the approaching train and was caught by the engine and so seriously injured that he died at the hour stated. Mr. Burton is the father of Mrs. W. M. Acker of this city and Mr and Mrs. Acker went to Anniston yesterday as soon as notified of the injury of Mr. Burton. The deceased is survived by three sons and four daughters. The remains were shipped to Lincoln last night and the funeral and burial will take place in that town Thursday.
