Etowah County ALGenWeb The Gadsden Times Gadsden, Alabama Wednesday, June 8, 1921 Page 1 ERNEST BEARD DIES Ernest Beard died yesterday afternoon at 5:30 at the home of his brother-in-law, Starling Pitts at 715 Gardner street from a tumor on his brain. He was a splendid young man and had worked for various firms around Gadsden. He fought through the world war and was gassed one time. The deceased leaves a father, James Beard, at Holly Grove, Ark., two brothers, Joe at South Richmond, VA., and Frank at Rainesville, Va. One sister, Mrs. Starling Pitts resides in Gadsden. The burial will take place Thursday afternoon at Hokes Bluff at 1 o'clock and interment will be at the Hokes Bluff cemetery.
