The marriage of Miss Pauline Brock, daughter of Mrs. H. B. Brock and the late Mr. Brock, to Edward Preston Murphy, son of Mrs. E. P. Murphy and the late Mr. Murphy, was solemnized at 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning, July 2. The ceremony took place at the home of the bride's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Brock. Dr. W. R. Hendricks, of Birmingham, read the impressive marriage vows before an improvised altar of ferns and standards holding shasta daisies and Queen Anne's lace. The program of numtial music was played by Mrs. J. P Gillespie, and the strains of Lohengrin's Wedding March, the bride descended the stairs with her brother Harry B. Brock, who gave her in marriage. Her only attendant was her niece, Miss Betty Brock, who wore a blue figured chiffon frock with navy accessories and a corsage of pink painted daisies. The bride, who graduated from the Gadsden High School and attended Huntington College in Montgomery, was dressed for the ceremony in a suit of beige with accessories of parisand. Her corsage was of tallman roses and lillies of the valley. George Murphy was his brother's best man. Mr. Murphy received his education in the Gadsden schools and graduated from Alabama Polytechic Institute at Auburn. He is a member of Sigma Phi Sigma Fraternity, and is associated with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Immediately following the ceeremony, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy left for a short wedding trip after which they will be at home at 614 Haralson Avenue. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bennett, of Pineapple; Mrs. Harry Baldwin, Miss Stacy Baldwin and Harry Baldwin, II, of Orlando, Fla. -Gadsden Times.
