Williams, 72, passed away at the home of his daughter near Geraldine, June 7 after a short illness. He was born and reared in DeKalb County. He was married to Bettie Littlejohn, Dec. 17, 1896, who preceded him five years ago. To this union were born five children, four of whom survive, Carlton, Wendell and J. B. of Geraldine, and Mrs. Bessie Evans, Albertville; eight grandchildren, four brothers and one sister. He was a member of Salem Methodist Church serving in the capacity of a steward of trustee. Active pallbearers were Carton, Wendall, J. B. and Konrad Williams, Boyd and Waylon Evans. Honorary pallbearers were L. R. Porter, D. G. Morrow, T. A. Guest, N. V. Crow, Edgar Rowell, L. R. Littlejohn, Earl Marbut, Clapman Richey, Horace Porter, D. A. Smith, C. M. Crow and Herbery Chafin. Funeral services were held at Salem, June 9, with Rev Walter Dobbs and Rev. L. J. Ashley officiating. Burial in the church cemetery with Bartlett in charge.
