MR. JOHN H. THOMPSON

John Hampton Thompson, 88, of Dutton passed away at his home Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. following a two months illness. He was born in DeKalb County but had lived at Dutton for the past twenty years. Was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survived by his wife, Mrs. Menervie Frances Thompson, four sons L. A., Fort Payne; C. M., Houston, Texas, Ed., Stigler, Alabama, Will, Colibran, two daughters, Mrs. Rosie Vaught, Dutton, Mrs. Ruby Cox, Dutton; 15 grandchildren, three brothers, George Thompson, Fort Payne, Charlie Thompson, Oklahoma, Miss., Sam Thompson, Trussville, Ala.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Dutton with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
