DeKalb County ALGENWEB The Fort Payne Journal Fort Payne, Alabama Wednesday, February 11, 1958 Page 3 JAMES GUY McCARTY James Guy McCarty, 35, of Mentone passed away in DeKalb Hospital Thursday about 2 p.m. following an illness of three days. A native of Georgia he had lived most of his life in the Mentone area. He was a veteran of World War II having served in Japan and other foreign countries. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Betty Bell McCarty, Mentone, a son Wayne McCarty; a daughter; Miss Danna McCarty; mother, Mrs. Ocie McCarty; all of Mentone, a brother Wm. Hoil McCarty, Riverside, Calif. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Moon Lake Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Buckles officiating. Active pallbearers were Herman Blalock, Emerson Brown, Kenneth Purcell, Martie Simmons, Don Phillips, Hal Phillips. Honorary were Bill Bullock, Melvin Simmons, Marshall Simmns, Edward Chitwood. Interment was in Bankhead Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
