RUBY HIGGINBOTHAM Mrs. Ruby Brock Higginbotham, 39, passed away suddenly of a heart attack at her home on Leesburg, Rt. 1, in the Brock's Chapel community, Thursday night about 8:30 o'clock. In the passing of Mrs. Higginbotham, her community has lost one of its best known and beloved women. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Higginbotham; two sons, Junior and Merle; her mother, Mrs. Thomas E. Brock, Leesburg, Rt. 1; three sisters, Mrs. I. W. Orr, Rome; Mrs. Dan Beck and Mrs. G. L. Bowman, Leesburg, Rt. 1; two half-brothers, William Brock, Fort Payne, Rt. 2; Tommie Brock, Lindale, Georga. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Valley Church Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Reb. James W. Blackwell officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward Beck, Howard Smith, Raymond Bobo, Ernest Plunkett, Isaac Higginbotham, A. G. Brock, Donald Brock and B. C. Locek. Pierce Funeral Home in charge.
