ROBERT EDWARD HARDWOOD

Robert Edward Hardwood, 50, of Valley Head passed away in a Chattanooga Hospital Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. following an illness of five days. He was a lifelong resident of DeKalb County and Valley Head. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by three brothers, Leo Hardwood, Valley Head; Hugh Hardwood, Rossville, Ga.; Donald Hardwood, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. Earl White, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m. from White Hall Methodist Church with the Revs. Dow Edwards, Homer Clark, Willie Kerby officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Wilkes, Floyd Hardwood, Orvil Roden, Harlan White, Orvil McClure, Bernard Champion.

Burial was in White Hall Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
