Emerson on Valley Head, Route 1, December 24, after a lingering illness. He was a Mason, his membership being at Euharles, Ga. He was a member of the Baptist church at Valley Head. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Bracnett Emerson; two sons, Walter Emerson, Anniston, Ralph Emerson, Valley Head; five daughters, Mrs. W. S. Matthews, Cassville, Ga., Mrs. J. J. Gaddis, Fairmount, Ga., Mrs. R. H. Hubbard, Kingston, Ga., Mrs. B. H. Porch, Cassville, Ga., Mrs. R. L Marton, Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Jess Emerson, Young Harris, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at two o'clock with the Rev. Ralph Kimsey and the Rev. Earl Kimsey, officiating. Burial was in Cassville Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
