Mrs. Ellen E. Durham

Mrs. Ellen E. Durham, 65, widow of the late James Durham, and one of the most prominent and best known women of the county, passed away at the home at Chavies, Monday afternoon, December 7.

Mrs. Durham was born May 25, 1865 and was widely noted for her lovable Christian character. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Chavies, the Rev. J. M. White officiating, with interment at Town Creek cemetery.

Surviving her are six sons and six daughters. She was the mother of Mrs. H. P. Emmett and Messrs. Clyde and Jess Durham, of Fort Payne.
