MR. W. B. CHESTER

William Bartley Chester, 73, of Rt. 1, Henagar passed away at his home in the Sylvania community Tuesday at 4 p.m. following an illness of nine weeks. He was a native of Gilmer County, Georgia, had lived in the Sylvania area for the past 28 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Gilmer County, Ga.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ettie Hicks Chester, Rt. 1, Henagar; six sons, Ira, M. C., Carl and William Chester Jr., all of Henagar, Hoyt, Chatt; James Trio, Ga., a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Wright, Ider; 15 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mandy Phillips, Chatsworth, Ga., Mrs. Lizzie Barnes, Dalton, Ga.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Jenkins officiating. Pall bearers were Glenn Tilley, Ira Harriston, G. W. Wright, Willard Sharpe, Frank Ladd, A. C. Wilkes. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home in charge.
