Brock, 82, died at his home here August 28, following a long illness. "Uncle Tom" as he was generally known he a great many friends over the county who will regret to learn of his passing. He was born at Leganon and had been a citizen of DeKalb County all his life. He was a good man and had been a member of the Baptist church for more than 50 years. A short time ago he and his wife welcomed a large number at their home for their 62nd wedding anniversary. It is said all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren attended this reunion. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Martha Brock; four sons, Van of Gadsden, and Wallace, Luther and Arthur, Fort Payne; four daughters, Mrs. Jim Waller and Mrs. Nick Johnson, Fort Payne; Mrs. P. I. Martin and Mrs. Willie Spruling, Gadsden. Forty-five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted at Lebanon Sunday morning with the Rev. B. R. Justice officiating. The following grandsons served as pallbearers: T. A. Brock, Jr., J. H. Brock, Clifford Brock, Woodrow Brock, P. I. Martin, Jr., and Arthur Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were the following grandsons and grand-daughter's husbands: Carl Martin, Howard Brock, Vance Brock, Gus Johnson, Luther Johnson, Charley Johnson, W. H. Baltimore, Marvin Pate, Ikey Bohannon, Arthur Browley and Rother Brock. Flower girls were granddaughters: Golden, Vivion, Lillian, Mable, Virginia and Sunshine Brock and Martha Waller.
