MARVIN HENDRICKS HATFIELD, son of WILLIAM HENRY 'BONEY BILL' HATFIELD, was born September 15, 1886 in Sulphur Springs, DeKalb Co, AL, and died September 17, 1970 in Sulphur Springs, DeKalb Co, AL. He married RUTH ELLA OYLER 1907 in Sulphur Springs, DeKalb Co, AL. She was born 1891 in Sulphur Springs, DeKalb Co, AL, and died December 10, 1952 in Sulphur Springs, DeKalb Co, AL.

MARVIN HENDRIX HATFIELD, 84 of Sulphur Springs, AL, died Wednesday afternoon at his home. Survivors are four sons, Weston L. Hatfield, Marcus W. Hatfield, Reginald W. Hatfield and Phillip Roy Hatfield, all of Rising Fawn, GA; four daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Chadwick, Chattanooga, Mrs. Mary Belle Reeves, Mrs. Juanita Spencer, Mrs. Maurine Hurst, all of Rising Fawn, GA; 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday at the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. T. C. Nelson, Rev. Junior Garrett and Rev. Pearl Tinker officiating. Burial in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Jimmy Hatfield, Wiley Hatfield, Tony Hatfield, Junior Hatfield, Roy Hatfield, and Winfred Reeves. The body is at the home of Weston Hatfield at Sulphur Springs, AL. Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Payne, AL, in charge.

MRS. RUTH ELLA HATFIELD, 61, died at her home in Sulphur Springs, AL, Wednesday afternoon at 1:35 following a lengthy illness. She was a native of DeKalb County and had lived in Sulphur Springs all her life. She was a member of the Sulphur Springs Missionary First Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Marvin H. Hatfield; four sons, Weston L., Marcus W., Woodrow R., and Phillip R. Hatfield, all of Sulphur Springs; four daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Stallings, Chattanooga, Mrs. Mary Belle Reeves, Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Jean Spencer, Trenton, GA, and Mrs. Maurine Hurst, Rising Fawn, GA, Route 1; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Lee Hamrick, Mrs. Dewie Thornbury and Mrs. Amy Jones, all of Chattanooga; one brother, James Hugh Oyler, Chattanooga; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held from the Sulphur Springs Missionary First Baptist Church, Friday at 1:30 (CST), with the Revs. Claude Parker and Joe Campbell officating. Burial in Sulphur Springs Cemetery with the Pierce Funeral Home in charge.

WESTON LAWRENCE HATFIELD, son of Marvin Hendricks Hatfield, was born November 14, 1908 in Sulphur Springs, DeKalb Co, AL, and died January 19, 1999 in Valley Head, DeKalb Co, AL. He married RUBY INEZ STALLINGS 1930 in AL. She was born March 15, 1914 in Sulphur Springs, DeKalb Co, AL, and died July 25, 1994 in Valley Head, DeKalb Co, AL.

WESTON HATFIELD-VALLEY HEAD, AL

WESTON L. HATFIELD of the Sulphur Springs community in Valley Head, died Tuesday, Jan 19, 1999, at his home. He was 90. Mr. Hatfield was a Baptist and the widower of Ruby Hatfield. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Woodyard, Huntsville, AL and Myrna Estep, Birmingham, AL; three sons, Russell Hatfield, Trussville, AL, James Hatfield, Loughman, FL, and Ted Hatfield, Lenoir City, TN; four sisters, Eleanor Charwick, Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Mary Belle Reeves, Sulphur Springs, AL, Jean Spencer, Valley Head, and Maurene Hurst, Ider, AL; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday at 11 am (EST) at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, GA, with the Rev. Billy Wallace and the Rev. Fred Bradford officating. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after noon today until 10 pm at the funeral home.
