Currantly searching for Elizabeth Hawk in about 1850 may have been moved along with her family during the trail of tears. Father may have been Jim and her mother Martha. She was supposedly full blooded Indian. Possably Cherokee; or Chaktaw she was married to a James(?) Tuntstill , They had a daughter named Mary Jane Tunstill who married John Wesley Marrion they moved to or lived in Texas around 1860.

My great-grandmother was Julia REYNOLDS. She was born ca 1868. She married John C.H. LOCKE October 8, 1882 at the home of Richard REYNOLDS in Choctaw Co., AL. Could you look up to see if they show up on the census records for 1880 as a REYNOLDS family. I would like to know who her parents and siblings were. Also want to know how to verify as my mother remembers that she was a full-blood Choctaw. Thank you so much for your help.

FOSTER/TRIPPE/RYAN/TUCKER

I am looking for any information on these relatives. This is what I know so far. My great-grandfather was Rev. J.C.(John Calvin) Foster, he married Jessie E. Trippe in June of 1869. Their son William Hopkins Foster was born in Choctaw Corner(s), now Thomasville, Choctaw Co., AL in May of 1870. As far back as I have on J.C. is he was born in Spartanburg, SC in 1823. Now Jessie; her father was Dr. Jesse E. Trippe, he married Mary A. Ryan, they had two daughters, Sarah C. and my great-grandmother, Jessie. Jessie was born in, I believe, Choctaw Co., in 1850. Sarah was born in Lauderdale Co., MS in the late 1840's. Jessie, Sarah and their Mother are on the 1860 Choctaw County Census living in the household of H.E. Ryan. I don't know what happen to Dr. Trippe. Also living in the same household were Sandy Tucker, Martha E. Tucker and Ely T. Tucker. I don't know how or if the Tucker's are related. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am looking for information on Sarah REYNOLDS. She was born in 1862. She lived in Choctaw co. with her mother and step-father,Emaline and Fleet Watkins in 1870. She married James A. Jarrell.

Hello everyone, I am looking for the family members (ancestors and descendants) of Joseph Allen Hurst and Alice A. Gear.
At the time of the 1860 Mobile Census, Joseph GEAR (33 yrs old, born in PA) is shown with wife Sarah (Harris), daughters Alice and Anna. Alice (also known as Addie, possibly her middle name was Adeline?) was born in Mobile Alabama April 28, 1859.
There are Gear families listed in the 1850 CHEROKEE CO AL census but have not had access to same: GEAR 82B-83A-112A
Joseph and Alice married December 1880 in Clarke County MS (per IGI). Joseph died February 27, 1924 and Alice on March 19, 1935. Both are buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ellisville, Jones County, Mississippi. Joseph Allen HURST born March 16, 1858 in Clarke County MS is the son of William Hurst and Mary Steinwinder. William Hurst and his family are shown in the Choctaw County Alabama 1860 census. It is interesting that William and Mary's older children were born in Choctaw County Alabama, Joseph Allen in 1858 in Clarke County MS, but in 1860, the family was once again in Choctaw County. Joseph's and Alice's children were reportedly born in Choctaw County, Alabama.

LENA PEARL5 HURST died September 05, 1985 in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi. She married (1) ELLIS BUSH (who was killed in a train wreck). She married (2) JOHN MILTON ENGLISH February 06, 1919, son of LEONARD ENGLISH (son of William W. English and Lavinia Donalson, who was the son of Green English and Sarah Burson) and NANCY BENTON (dau. Of Hezekiah Benton shown in the 1860 Milton County GA and 1870 Forsyth County Georgia Census). He was born May 10, 1877 reportedly in Columbus, Georgia, but possibly Jones County, Mississippi, and died August 26, 1958 in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi.
Siblings of John Milton English include: Elby, Rubirl, William, Ollie, Cornelia.
After John Milton and Lena Pearl's marriage, the English family lived in the Pendorf Community of Jones County Ms.
In the 1917 WWI Registrants, John Milton English was working in Muscle Shoals Alabama.
The English family later migrated to Lamar County, Mississippi, where they raised five children:

ROE AGE 66. 1870-census Choctaw County, AL is Churchill ROWE age 75. This is all the information I know. Other ROWE/ROE families listed in the Choctaw County, AL, but find no connection at all to my Churchill ROWE.

She is found as a Widow Lady in the Dallas County, AL 1830 and 1840 census reports with the following children: John HUGHES born abt: 1805-1809, William HUGHES born abt: 1810-1815 South Carolina/Georgia, Nancy HUGHES born abt: 1815 Georgia, Lewis HUGHES born abt: 1817 Georgia, and died on February 1, 1889 and buried in Bell Cemetery in Dallas County, AL. Ann HUGHES born abt: 1815-1820 Alabama. John HUGHES born abt: 1805-1809 (married) 1831/1832 in Alabama to Demarias HAYMAN. This family moved from Dallas County, AL to Lauderdale County, MS where they built and started The Hughes School in Lauderdale County, MS. They both are buried in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. William HUGHES born abt: 1810-1815 No information found Nancy HUGHES born abt: 1815 (married) James HENDERSON and that family moved from Dallas County, AL to Leake County, Mississippi. No further information has been located. Lewis HUGHES born abt: 1817, died unmarried, a Mason in Dallas County, AL on February 1, 1889, buried in Bell Cemetery.
