*Gene Black was Travis Eugene Black, born May 7, 1915 to Jodie Levell Black and Mattie Lucille Hicks. He died Oct. 15, 1973 in Montgomery and is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery. He was married to Annie Lynn Till of Forest Home, and they had six children. His father, Jody Black, was the son of Travis (Trav) Messer Black and Lizzie Narcissus Smith. His mother, Mattie L. Hicks, was the daughter of James Emmett Hicks and Virginia Cordelia Gamble.

Thanks to Robin Steven Peacock whose grandfather, Randolph Peacock, is pictured here on the left.  Mr. Peacock, at the age of 81, gave us the names that he could remember by looking at this photo. One exception is the name of Gene Black, whose name was provided by Edwena Platt.
