The following is an excerpt from Rev. J. W. Joyner's book A History of the Baptists in Butler County ( 1819-1957):

This church was organized in the year 1936 with Rev. R. Z. MULLINS in charge of the presbytery. Rev. C. L. PERRY was moderator, and thirty-one members enrolled. This church lists only two pastors, Rev. Edd ROGERS and Rev. R. Z. MULLINS. 

Three young men of this church have been ordained to the gospel ministry, Rev. Ed HARGROVE, Rev. Leland TYNDALL, and Rev. SCHOFIELD. 

At the present time two hundred and two are enrolled in Sunday School, with an average attendance of one hundred and forty. The church has an active Training Union awith fifty-eight enrolled; also an active Woman's Missionary Union with twenty-one enrolled. 

This church fully cooperates in all Associational work.
