*Note: (by R.  W.)  This is the man who named Georgiana (which was first named Pittsville by the Alabama & Florida Railroad (Pensacola to Montgomery) people about 1855.  Rev. Milner, who owned the general store that housed the Post Office changed the name to Georgiana soon after wards in  honor of his native state of Georgia and daughter Anna.  Tradition, which is probably in error, has it that this daughter was drowned  in a pond east of the railroad.  The "N" in Parmelia N. is probably for Nancy, which is often shortened to Nan and then to Ann.  She is listed in Pike County, GA. in 1850 as Parmelia N. but as Ann in Butler County, Alabama in 1870.  They did have a daughter named Nancy E., born in 1849 but  it is  not likely that she drowned because she is still with the family in 1870 and 21 years of age.

Their son, Elisha Calloway Milner, also had a daughter Ann, likely named for his mother.  The ancestors of these Milners came from Virginia, via Kentucky, and from the neighborhood of Boonesborough where two Calloway girls were captured by the Indians but later rescued along with Daniel Boone's daughter.  Some of the Calloway family once lived at Old Mill Hill and there are Boones still in Georgiana.

This cemetery census taken by Rufus and Marie Watson in November 1966.
