The turn off for the church (and cemetery) is on the right and marked (as of 2005).
Go 1½ miles up Ebell Rd.

Transcribers notes -
1) This material comes from a big white book in the AL State Archives on the shelves in
the Blount Co., AL section. It was privately produced, typed, and bound. It may or
may not have an official name and citation. If you need to refer to it, please call the
AL archives and ask how to handle it.
2) The cemetery was originally surveyed by Jack V. Horton and Ralph H. Allred of Gadsden,
Alabama on 8 Feb 1964. It was completely resurveyed by Robin Sterling on 30 Jun 2002.

CEMETERY SURVEY of BLOUNT COUNTY, ALABAMA - 1 March 1965
With the possible exception of some small family graveyards, unknown, all cemeteries in
Blount County are included in this volume. Each cemetery was surveyed completely, regardless
of death dates or age of cemetery.
The book is arranged in the following manner:
I. Master Cemetery Index: An alphbetica1 listing of all cemeteries.
II. Master Surname Index: An alphabetical listing of all surnames for the entire county,
plus the cemeteries in which each surname is found.
III. Cemetery Surveys: Tombstone inscriptions for each cemetery. Cemeteries arranged
alphabetically with an index at the back of each survey.
How to use the Indexes:
A. If cemetery is known - turn to cemetery and check index of names located at back
of each cemetery survey.
B. If' cemetery is not known - refer to Master Surname Index for list of cemeteries wherein
the surname is found, then proceed as in A above.
NOTE: In searching for names it would be well to cross check names beginning with
C or G as these are difficult to distinguish when copying inscriptions in many cases.
In most cases no effort was made to identify or note the number of unmarked graves.
Nor was there any effort to consult Sexton, Church, or other records.
Every effort was made to make the records as accurate as humanly possible. We did
not presume to make corrections of what appeared to be errors but copied each transcription
as it was on the tombstone. The researcher could verify questionable data by a visit to the cemetery.
In each cemetery, most of the copying was done in rows. This makes location of tombstones
easier for relatives or researchers who may wish to visit the grave.
Transcribers Note The page numbers referred to are in the big white book. If you visit
the AL Archives they may be of use to you so they are included here. As always, human error
may have crept in, so please double check all data or mark it as unverified in your records.
