Thomas Marion McCrary

Thomas M. McCrary, 88, a former Pecan Gap citizen, died late Wednesday of burns suffered when he had a heart attack and fell while burning grass a week ago. He was found some time afterward by Negroes passing by a lot, his clothes being almost burned off. His death occurred at 6 PM Wednesday in Wolfe City Community Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church at Ladonia with Rev. T. A. Minga of Burkburnett assisted by Rev. Crandall Hunt of Ladonia, Delta Funeral Home made interment in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Ladonia. Mr. McCrary, a retired farmer, would have been 89 years old, Nov. 22. He was born in Morgan County, Alabama in 1861. Survivors are his wife and these children: Henry McCrary, Rockwall; Jobie McCrary; and Mrs. Cora Castle, Ladonia; Mrs. Irene McNutt, Dallas; Mrs. Minnie Shelton, Honey Grove; Mrs. Mabel Braddock, Howland; and Mrs. Mae Martindale, San Diego, Calif, besides 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren and one brother George McCrary, Leonard.
