SAM J. GARNER

Funeral services for Sam J. Garner, 84, of Route 3, Somerville, who died May 28, 1986, at his residence, were Friday, May 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church, Rev Debbie Vest officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, Peck Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include three daughters, Allie Mae Bates of Decatur, Martha Johnson of Somerville, and Geraldine Ballinger of Valhermoso Springs; three sons, Carl T. Garner of Birmingham, Eugene Garner of Hartselle, and Jack Garner of Somerville; three sisters, Beulah Coleman of Tuscaloosa, Lizzie Pannell of Hartselle, and Ruby Dunaway of Somerville; four brothers, John Earl Garner of Birmingham, O'Neal Garner of Somerville, Sherrill Garner of Cullman, and Roy Garner of Birmingham; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Mr Garner was a long time active member of Antioch United Methodist Church and a retired farmer.
