WILLIAM COMPTON

William Compton, age 80, died at his Somerville 3 residence Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Antioch Methodist Church, Ray Elder officiating. Peck directed burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs Pearl Compton, Somerville 3; two daughters, Mrs Avis Russell, Montgomery, and Mrs Lula Dempsey, Somerville 3; one son, Ralph Compton, Amory, Miss.; one sister, Mrs Lois Brown, Somerville 2; one brother, Ira Compton, Decatur 2; nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy Russell, Askell Compton, Mack Compton, Billy Compton, William Dempsey and Talmadge Shotts.

Mr Compton was a member of the Church of God.
