Herbert L. Chunn Sr.

Funeral for Herbert L. Chunn Sr., 77, of Somerville was to be today, April 14, 2004, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Ledlow and the Rev. Chris Godbey officiating.

Burial was to be in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Chunn died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born April 2, 1927, in Jefferson County to John Chunn and Johnnie Jeanette Chunn Harwell. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Chunn was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was a letter carrier, and was also a former employee of Morgan County District No. 4 Shop.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert L. Chunn II of Priceville and John D. Chunn and wife Rosena of Cotaco; four daughters, Charlotte Fells of Galveston, Texas, Libby Kimbrell, June Golden and Elisa Chunn, all of Somerville; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Jonathan Golden, Jody Golden, Jason Golden, Duncan Bates, Nathan Kimbrell, Joshua Chunn and Glenn Sparkman.
