Dr. Carl Thomas Jones

Dr. Carl Thomas Jones was born in Newville, Alabama on June 29, 1892. He died on September 15,1955 and is buried in the Headland Methodist Cemetery. He was the son of Thomas B. Jones and Ada McLain Jones. Thomas died in 1892, only two months after Dr. Jones was born. For reasons unknown, at the age of four he took a little bundle of clothes and walked to the home of his grandmother at Union Springs, a community near Newville. James Jones, his grandfather, had passed away in 1894. Dr. Jones grew up in the home of his grandmother, Elizabeth Jane Holland Jones.

Dr. C. T. Jones was graduated from the Medical College of Alabama in Mobile. During World War I he served as a doctor in France. Aside from a lucrative medical practice, he gained wealth from land he acquired. He married 1st to Ruby Clark of Headland, Alabama and they had one child that died at birth. Dr. Jones and Ruby divorced and he married 2nd to Mary Celeste Roberts and they had one son.
