Located on County Road 15, turn north off Highway 84 at Bellville crossroads.   The Church and the cemetery are on the left. This census begins at the lower end, with the markers closest to the fence.

   Note:  Marble statue of small dog in repose is at the foot of this tomb.  The dog was her companion that  [1] died shortly before FEH & she requested it be buried at the             foot of her grave when she died.  Or [2] the dog  grieved so for it’s mistress, it died and was buried at her feet.  ‘Alice’ inscribed on marble base.

Hawthorn, who died 9 Dec 1835 in the 29th year of her age.  In the full prospect of a blissful Immortality after continuing an acceptable member of the Baptist Church for 16 years.  The mother of four lovely children the youngest of which was an only daughter, Sarah Louisa who died 15 days after its lovely Mother age 27 days whose infant  dust moulders at the right side of its affectionate Mother in the same tomb.

“Lo Where The Silent Marble Weeps A Friend Wife and Mother Sleeps A Heart Within Whom Sacred Call the Peaceful Virtues Lov’d to Dwell.  Affectionate Warm & Faith Sincere & Soft  --- Were There.  Ah! Why So Soon! Just As The Bloom Appears Stray’d the Bright Blossoms From This Well of Tears Death View’d the Treasure  to the Desert Given Claimed the Fair Flower & Planted it in Heaven.  In This Stone is Engraved the sorrowful Willow That Portrays the Heart That Mourns An Affectionate Wife and Only Daughter.  At end of epitath, the Weeping Willow is cut at the trunk.  <Daughter of John King & Elizabeth King, below>
