Woodie Posey Dies at Blountsville

Thomas Woodie Posey, 82, well know citizen, passed away at the residence on Rt. 2, Blountsville February 13, after an extended illness. The son of the late Palestine and Martha Posey, he was a retired farmer.
Mr. Posey served several years as police at Blountsville, and was at one time chief of police in Oneonta. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Ann Posey; two sons, A.B. Posey Rt. 2, Blountsville and Adam Posey, Birmingham; three daughters, Mrs. O.W. Chambers, Birmingham, Mrs. K.J. Duke, Oak Ridge, Tenn., Mrs. E.P. Carter, Blountsville; three brothers, G.P. and Warren Posey, both of Florida, and Virgil Posey, Memphis, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Ella Daily, Birmingham; 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Bradley were held Sunday at Fowler Springs, with burial at Austin Creek. Chambers Brown-Service had charge of funeral arrangements.
