Mrs. Posey Dies of Erysipelas

Mrs. Martha Rosa Posey, the beloved wife of Palestine Posey, dies at their home, three miles south of Blountsville, Monday morning after an illness of some duration with erysipelas. She was seriously ill only a few days preceding her death.
Mrs. Posey was about 67 years of age, was a native of this county, having been born near Village Springs. She was a good christian woman, a member of the Missionary Baptist church, a woman whose influence was always for good. She was a woman of kindly disposition, ready at all times to administer to the wants of the sick and afflicted.
She leaves a husband and ten children all of whom, except one were present when the summons came. May it be the purpose of these children to live as their mother lived that they may die the death of the righteous, as their mother did.
The funeral services were held at the late residence and were conducted by Dr. W.M. Cole of Blountsville, the interment taking place at Austin Creek cemetery.
