BLAND, William J. - born about 1835, son of James and Susannah (Edwards) Bland enlisted Apr 10, 1862 at Blountsville. Patient at Ross Hospital, Mobile with fever. Deserted July 18, 1862 and later discharged on Sept. 6, 1862 age 27. Married Martha Ann Whaley May 27, 1855.

BLAND, Milton - born about 1843, son of James and Susannah (Edwards) Bland, enlisted Apr. 10, 1862 at Blountsville. Died Apr. 8, 1863 of bronchitis at Petersburg, VA.

BLAND, William J. - born about 1842, son of William and Louisa (Edwards) Bland, died 14 May 1864 at the Battle of Resaca, Georgia. Buried Resaca Cemetery, Resaca, Gordon Co., Georgia.

WATKINS, William Henry - born 10 Dec. 1840, son of Henry A. and Margaret (Hill) Bland. Enlisted 23 Sept. 1861 at Blountsville. Sick on furlough from July 24 to August 31, 1862 and a patient in Ross Hospital, Mobile, on Feb. 14, 1864 with an ulcer. Sent to Greenville Hospital Feb. 18, 1864. Wounded slightly in the shoulder at the Battle of New Hope Church May 28, 1864. Married Aytcha Nellie Daily 22 Oct. 1865, daughter of John and Carrie Ann (Bland) Daily.

RATLIFF, John A. Jr. - born 1837, son of John A. and Phereby (Hopper) Ratliff. Enlisted 23 Sept. 1861 at Blountsville. Discharged 9 March 1862 on account of an affliction of "fits" by recommendation of the Surgeon General. Married Elizabeth I. Easley 20 Oct. 1857.

RATLIFF, Elijah - born 1839, son of John A. and Phereby (Hopper) Ratliff. Enlisted 23 Sept. 1861 at Blountsville. On furlough May and June 1863. Married Sarah A. McPherson 16 March 1857.

RATLIFF, William Beasley - born 1834, son of John A. and Phereby (Hopper) Ratliff. Enlisted 13 Sept.1861 at Blountsville. Discharged because of skull fracture 19 Dec 1862.

RATLIFF, Jeremiah D. - born 16 Feb 1829, son of John A. and Phereby (Hopper) Ratliff. Enlisted 23 Sept. 1861 at Blountsville. Patient at Ross Hospital at Mobile Sept. 11-16, 1863 and Dec. 12, 1863 to Jan 14, 1864 with acute dysenteria. Wounded near Atlanta Sept 10, 1864 treated at Ocmulgee Hospital at Macon Sept. 12, then transferred to residence in Blount Co., Sept 22, 1864. Lost right arm.

RATLIFF, Thomas - born 1826, son of John A. and Phereby (Hopper) Ratliff. Enlisted 23 Sept. 1861 at Blountsville. On special duty at Greenville, Alabama hospital from July 21 to October 31, 1862. Detached as blacksmith July and August 1863. Married Mary Adams.

RATLIFF, James Sr. - born 1807, son of Jeremiah Ratliff (1764-184?). Enlisted 23 Sept 1861 at Blountsville. Received medical discharge 9 June 1862, age 54. Married Mary "Polly" Cooper.

RATLIFF, James, Jr. - born about 1826, son of James and Mary (Cooper) Ratliff. Enlisted 23 Sept 1861 at Blountsville. No further information.

RATLIFF, Dekalb - born about 1843, son of James and Mary (Cooper) Ratliff. Enlisted 23 Sept 1861 at Blountsville. Patient at Greenville Hospital from March 1 to June 30, 1862. Died there August 18, 1862.

RATLIFF, William J. Enlisted Sept 13, 1861 at Blountsville. Sick on furlough August 9-29, 1862. Present at roll call August 1863.

RATLIFF, Abraham B. - born 9 Jan 1820, son of Joshua and Rhoda (Baker) Ratliff of Blount County. Abraham was a Recruiter for the Confederate Army. He recruited the last living son of a local farmer who had lost two sons in the War. The farmer went to Abraham's home and shot him.
